From Koast to Koast

Please join us in a celebration of HOPE, UNITY and LOVE at Landmark Park in Fortville, Indiana on Saturday, September 25th, for the only event of its kind: a celebration that continues to restore hope and transform lives across the county, from Koast to Koast, in ways we never could have imagined. #K2K

2020 wasn’t canceled, but rather, the most important of them all.

When COVID-19 abruptly upended our lives last year, it separated us, almost completely from the routine and events that usually root our lives. Work, school, dates, social outings, sports events, festivals, ceremonies, travel, the things we plan for and look forward to. It transformed nearly every aspect of our world – not just because of the pandemic. 2020 brought tectonic change. How we live. Where we live. Where we work. What we do for work. What it means to be a kid. What family means. What is important.

In a year plagued by fires, a worldwide pandemic and historic protests, we saw people rise to the occasion by helping each other through it with a steady drumbeat of kind gestures. Amid all struggles there were glimmers of HOPE in the form of actual goodness. Out of the Coronavirus came creativity, out of quarantine brought bonus family time, out of activism came change for the better. People came together to help others facing unnerving odds, as allies and advocates for not only their friends and community, but for people they may never meet.

From small acts of kindness to even the “Tiger King” somehow connected all of us. A year of birthday parades, sidewalks chalked with messages of encouragement, windows and doors decorated just to bring a smile, community thanking our everyday heroes, renewed gratitude for our essential workers, as well as a renewed relationship with nature. These moments of kindness around the world have been rampant since the onslaught. Expressions of LOVE and compassion, brought HOPE. People need HOPE. People need UNITY. People need LOVE.

“HOPE” the poet Emily Dickinson wrote, “Is the thing of feathers.” Written to honor the human capacity for hope. “HOPE” metaphorically transformed into a strong-willed bird that lies within the human soul and sings its song no matter what. Rain or shine, gale or storm, good times or bad. A generous dose of empathy and understanding of that truth will make us all stronger as we rebuild and remake our world in the years to come. It is with HOPE that after a gray year, we now can see the present and future times to come in technicolor.

2020 wasn’t canceled, but rather, the most most important of them all.

Although the path forward may still feel uncertain, one thing is clear: to change the trajectory for the better, we have to come together, work together, and support each other in building a brighter, safer, more just future we can all share. As we move forward we can’t lose sight of our goal, a brighter future everyone can share. We are in this together.

Every calendar year brings a cycle of HOPE – just as seasons, milestones, rituals and events that we celebrate feel like a chapter break – when there is a big event, it creates a sense of UNITY and belonging that all humans crave. After a year-long pause, on Saturday, September 25th we plan to throw the BIGGEST CELEBRATION yet. A celebration of restored HOPE. A celebration of LOVE and KINDNESS. A celebration of what’s to come.

“There is something unexplainable that happens within us when we reach out and help someone whose needs are greater than our own; this is the heartbeat of Kammy’s Kause.”

Please stay tuned, we have much to share!
